Twin-screw extrusion technology

The purpose of the extrusion process is to continuously change the physico-chemical viscous polymer medium and produce high-quality structured products by precisely controlling the processing conditions.

The twin-screw extruder consists of two co-rotating screws mounted on a splined shaft in a closed cylinder. Thanks to a wide range of screw and barrel designs, various screw profiles and process functions can be configured according to process requirements. Therefore, the twin-screw extruder can convey, compress, mix, bake, shear, heat, cool, pump, shape, etc. Has a high degree of flexibility. The main advantage of the co-rotating intermeshing twin-screw extruder is its excellent mixing ability, which gives the extruded product excellent performance and brings considerable value to the processing unit.

 

In the processing by twin screw extrusion, the raw materials can be solids (powders, granules, flour), liquids, suspensions and possibly gases. Extruded products are plastic compounds, chemically modified polymers, textured food and feed, cellulose pulp, etc.
